Meet the Board

Amy Buresh, Nebraska

Elected as president of her affiliate in 2003 and to the national board in 2006, Buresh is a dedicated mentor, volunteer, and advocate.

Ever Lee Hairston, California

A retired program director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Hairston was elected to the national board in 2010.

James Gashel, Washington

A lifelong stalwart of the movement, Gashel has held numerous positions and has advocated for the rights of the blind since the 1960s. 

Terri Rupp, Nevada

A respected teacher and marathon runner, Rupp has been elected twice as affiliate president in Nevada and was elected to the national board in 2019.
