National ConventionEach year the National Federation of the Blind holds its national convention. More than 3,000 delegates participate from across the United States as well as many foreign countries. Our 2009 convention was held in Detroit, Michigan, from July 3 through Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
State ConventionsAll of the 52 NFB affiliates hold their own annual state/affiliate conventions that focus on more local issues. Dates, locations, and other details about state conventions of NFB affiliates may be found here.
Each year hundreds of Federationists attend the Washington Seminar. There are seminars, workshops, committee meetings, and most importantly an opportunity to present the priority issues requiring congressional attention over the coming year. Mark your calendars now to join us at the 2010 Washington Seminar. The Great Gathering-In will be Monday, February 1, 2010, and visits to congressional offices will be Tuesday, February 2 through Thursday, February 4, 2010.
The NFB National Convention is the seminal annual event of our organization. Important decisions are made, memorable speeches are given, and new friendships are grown. For information about our past conventions from audio files of speeches to agendas, please visit this page.
