ROOM OVERVIEW: The East Tower's Grand Ballroom which will hold our general sessions
and banquet is on the second floor directly across the hallway from the East
Tower Exhibit Hall. This rectangular exhibit hall contains 4 sections to explore.
With your back to the ballroom, you walk south to enter the Exhibit Hall on
its north wall.
East end: The section to the far left, has "The Accessible Home" arranged on two sides of a wide aisle, with large items like stoves to your left, and tables for smaller items like DVD players and the Home Theatre recommendations on your right.
Middle Section: The section in the middle of the hall is our free NFB literature on 20 tables arranged in a giant U-shape with the open end towards you.
West end: The section of the hall to your right is the NFB Store with 20 to 25 demonstration tables in nearly a U-shape with the wide open end facing the ballroom. The canes will be about 4 tables on from the start, and the Store counter (where you pay the shopkeepers) is nearly at the end of the line, against the west wall, as you follow the continuous row of tables.
Fourth Section: We thank APH for two museum displays: "The War of the Dots" and "A History of the Braille Writer." These two tables are against the north wall, across from the intersection of free NFB literature and the NFB Store. To their left against the north wall are the NFB tables for affiliates Alaska, California and Tennessee, and a table for careers in the FBI. (If more tables are added before convention, they will be somewhere in this hall too.)
Note: Our other exhibit area, the Archibald-Cochran ballroom, on the third floor of the West Tower, has almost all the outside exhibitors, NFB state affiliate tables, and NFB national division tables. To walk from the second floor East Tower Exhibit Hall to the third floor West Tower exhibit area, either cross the street at ground level, or use the elevators or stairs to the Conservatory which crosses over 4th Street at the third floor level.
